Hungry And Thirsty

Are you hungry and thirsty
and have nothing to eat or drink
Does life seem to be useless
and you cant seem to find the missing link
Then just come drink from the everlasting fountain
that never shall run dry
And eat of the bread of life
with no money ever needed to buy
Jesus is that bread of life who came down from heaven
to die on the cross for you and me
So by receiving him as our savior we could receive
everlasting life more abundant and free

John 6: 35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

It's brilliant - it really conveys the grim Industrial wasteland... Like Blake in England in the early 19th century, the 'manufactories' go on! Deb
A poem full of the aches and strains and yet a peace for them at last Thankyou for sharing this Love duncan X
Wonderful build on the earlier version that I've read and commented on. I agree - this is one of your best and most passionate pieces. Write on, my friend, do! Love from Esther
I commented on the first revised version just now expressing the doubt that that piece could be bettered. I eat my words indeed! This is stronger. S, this ranks amoung your most powerful penning, in my opinion. t x
Scarlett this is one excellent poem with strong graphic images and a haunting rhythm and flow. You tell it like it is. You are obviously writing from some experience and the result is stunning. love, Allie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
