An Ember Upon My Feet

Soft as the west wind that blows warm
Upon my naked skin;
Cold as the rushing waves that hit,
The thirsty cliff above me.

An ember upon my feet giving
light on a dark empty night;
Lingering in my mind at rest,
somehow waiting to be noticed.

I can't help but sigh a little,
It could be the longest night,
since your hand close to mine
building castles in the air.

I can't help but sigh a little, It could be the longest night, .......so touching and meaningful. Beautiful poem on love and friendship is astutely presented.10
Without the presence of the loved one or the life long companion by our side, our nights can turn to be dreary and the most monotonously long nights! LOVELY poem celebrating the beauty of companionship! A 10

Waiting to be noticed! ! Thanks for sharing.
Missing that special one always makes for long nights- and dreary days. You've said it elegantly!
