An Event Or Happening

Poem By William B. Booth, Jr.

A birthday, an anniversary, or a wedding,
all are unique in their own way
And could be classified as a current event
or happening, one might say.
My viewpoint in simplifying the stated basic categories
They are only a yarn or a well-planned story.
Each has it's own characters, plot, and a particular theme
A realization of a specific dream or a scheme.
Keeping all this in mind and with no further ado
I would like to present my poems to you.

Fishing Or Golf, Take Your Pick

Do you golf? I've been asked this question a great deal
But I answer with a smile, "Hey, a golf ball won't make a meal."
If you use your driver or iron, whatever your whim
I reply, "I would rather try to teach a worm to swim."

Life Gets Tedious—doesn'T It?

I've reached the age where I really don't care
Have gained some weight and, of course, lost some hair.
Have had daily walks to attempt to keep fit
But, really, life gets tedious-doesn't it?
