An Excerpt From... Cabin Enchantment

We skimmed past yellow-buttoned lilies with heart-shaped pads.
The shifting paddles did not hassle the resting turtle family on a nearby log.
We witnessed the mother mallard perched on an old dock startled and spreading her wings.
Suddenly, seven little "fluffies" sped by and, one by one, dunked down into the water and off into the cattails.
