Another Year

Lisa stumbles into Charlie
Spills his whiskey down his sleeve
The Legion Hall's still open
But it's quiet for New Year's Eve
And she wants him to come dancing
'Christ, sure you can't even walk'
It's just her and him, and a dozen old men
Running down the clock

Lisa stumbles into Charlie
'Sure why dontcha dance with her,
If I was a few years younger...'
The sleepy sergeant slurs
And now they start to count it off
Just four seconds left
Lisa leans in close to kiss him
Christ you can smell it off her breath
