April In Dereen

Over high Clarabeg the sky is looking gray
And the sun in the rain clouds is hidden away
Quite typical weather for April one only can say
And the birds they are singing in Dereen today

Not long until the prime of Spring in the May
As their mothers graze in the high fields the young lambs are at play
And the songs of Nature's feathered minstrels so pleasant to hear
They does sing their finest at this time of year

The lingering old memories such a pleasurable thing
Of Dereen such a beautiful place in the Spring
In view of Clarabeg small Clara though not widely known
It does have a natural charm of it's own

The robins the birds of the orange colored breast
Are gathering materials for the building of their nest
And the cattle out of wintering sheds living on silage and hay
On nutritious young grass are gaining weight by the day

In visualizations when thoughts take to wing
I walk in the fields of Dereen in the Spring
Looking quite resplendent in Nature's wildflowers
That have come to bloom in the mild April showers

And only the memories with me does remain
Of small Clara half cloaked in the gray fogs of rain
But the mental images joy to me bring
Of beautiful Dereen in April in Spring.
