Are We Any Different

Are we any different to a butterfly
The beautiful insect of the Summer sky
Who only lives briefly to mate and to die
A mere fact of Nature and facts never lie
We too are mere mortals but with that many would disagree
As we all look at life one might say differently
That most of your opinions are different to mine
Tells of your individuality and that suits me fine
Since I'm one of those who look at life in a negative way
One who in a flowering garden only sees decay
Few if any give credence to what I have to say
One of mine never will become a quote of the day
Yet are we any different to a cow or a sheep
Since a date with the Reaper we too have to keep.
