As She Confronts That Man

On the doorway of death begins life
Crossing on the threshold a bride
Leaves a family to be with a man
Unknown to her until they
Become as one, dead
To single purposes
Commitment lies
On that sign
Above
Their heads
No more looking
Back for the woman
Her husband is solely
Her own as she is his to
Be part of his small kingdom
There are no foolish games to play
No charade, no sweet goodnight kiss as
She confronts that man, until death, depart
