As Will I

Poem By Kat Mitchell

A song starts with an idea,
So did I
A song starts with a single thought,
So too did I

A song becomes familiar
As I mature slowly
A song remains that same, no matter how many times you play it
I change.

A song slowly becomes forgotten
As I will in my old age.
A song may never be heard from again
As I may be when I am gone.

Comments about As Will I

this is beautiful, a truly great piece. i believe and it is only my humble opinion that on the very last line it should read, As I may NOT, be, when I am gone. but I truly love your poem and you deserve a 10. which I tacked on to your first one. excellent.
a meditation on the song. listening, forgetting. lingering, familiar. so many ideas. thank you very much dear poet. tony

Moonhigh Is Here

Moonhigh is here, and so is light
I wish I had stayed with you
For it is you I long for

My heart grows weary,
Of this relentless onslaught.
I grow weak,
And lose confidence.
