Assembling The Puzzle

The sounds of home greet me
the trickling sound of the fish tank
my mother's eccentric cackling
and my step father's loud voice

Your poetry is some of the Best! Honest and emotional, straight forward but emotionally illustrative with familiar places and feelings comfortably accommodated by words- really touches my heart
Connecting poem about something we sometimes take for granted yet which ultimately determines our true states of belonging and feeling loved or feeling alienated and ostracized.
Fantastic poem dear poet......sweet tone of heart..
Lovely lines loaded with love for home and family. Such a creative and captivating composition that is as refreshing as a river. well done my friend!

A great poem, yes, where our absence is not noted, is not my home.
Had to read this gem several times, Nika. Yes, home has a particular sound...How much of what is home, what is familiar makes us feel a certain way because of how those sounds...the particular laugh, the bubbling in the fish tank....make us feel. Perhaps sound is necessary for some sound homes? This one goes on myfavourites list.
I have several homes/with a number of different families...Brilliant! It's a beautiful poem! Loved reading it! (10)

It is a beautiful poem on home having stunning expression. In this poem the definations of home has been inscribed deeply. Dear Nika, you say, home is quiet, sincere, universal: it's quiet due to family's peace in spite of several storms. Thanks for sharing and congratulation for the poem of the day.

Reminds me of the song EVER SINCE THE WORLD BEGAN popularized by SURVIVOR....Great poem, Nika... congrats for being selected...Perfect 10+++++ Ever Since The World Began I'll never know what brought me here, As if somebody led my hand, It seems I hardly had to steer, My course was planned. And destiny it guides us all, And by it's hand we rise and fall, But only for a moment, Time enough to catch our breath again. And we're just another piece of the puzzle, Just another part of the plan, How one live touches the other, Is so hard to understand. Still we walk this road together, We travel through as far as we can, And we have waited for this moment in time, Ever since the world began. Taking in the times gone by, We wonder how it all began, We'll never know and still we Try to understand. And even though the seasons change, The reasons shall remain the same, It's love that keeps us holding on Till we can see the sun again. And we're just another piece of the puzzle, Just another part of the plan, And we have waited for this moment in time, Ever since the world began. And I stand alone, a man of stone, Against the driving rain, And the night it's got your number, And the wind it cries your name, If we search for truth, win or lose, In this we're all the same, The hope still burns eternal, We're the keeper of the flame. And we're just another piece of the puzzle, Just another part of the plan, How one live touches the other, Is so hard to understand. Still we walk this road together, We try and go as far as we can, And we have waited for this moment in time, Ever since the world began.
