Angels Never Sit Atop Skyscrapers

I went up to the mountains to find her
because I knew an angel would never sit atop a skyscraper

up to where the streams run so long
where only her lashes could compare

where you listen out for quiet thunder
whether it fox or bear
for its is only here, in this place,
that I can truly hear
all the subtle pitch changes in the angel's voice

I come here and laugh at the notion
as if I ever had a choice

" being pelted by Heaven's. dizzy frozen tears" ... Such phrases are unforgettable, and they aptly convey your dismay. They make me feel as if I'm looking skyward as whirling flakes fall straight into my eyes. To my Favorites List!
This is really cute. I enjoyed it very much, and appreciate the amount of work that you must have put into it!

Hi Lorraine - Nice to meet a California Girl also nice to find a fellow Hiakuist! I am posting one about the months of the years. I like Haikus in bundles - one can write a real story. Well done 10.
