Dusk came with a mournful silence.
Clouds calmly drifted across the moon
Casting shadows into our rooms.
A heartcry from the streets below
Echoed only by a stray cat
And another painted harlot
Who, groaning, wrapped her arms tighter around herself
To hold her slender body from the evening breeze.
Two lovers danced down the street
And slipped into an alleyway
To be nestled in the darkness
And be sheltered by the night...
