Awake
(1986 / Sudbury)

Awake

I can't sleep,
not allowed to dream.
Sitting here wide awake,
thinking about what it all means...
These lives we live,
full of half-truths and secrecy.
With one person but wanting another,
it doesn't make sense to me.
Is this life meant to be an enigma,
full of riddles to puzzle us to death?
Too many questions, but in truth...
If answered, we would have nothing left.
