Basically, It's Just A Stick
It is a small slender stick.
by Mary Naylor
It feels round, hard and smooth.
It dances and rolls when it's dropped.
It really has no taste or smell.
It gives voice to our thoughts.
It's needed by freedom fighters,
but it's feared by tyrants.
It immortalizes our thoughts.
It keeps our fingers limber.
It's cylindrical with a pointy tip,
But, basically, it's just a stick.
*I hope this passes for a Character Poem.
I've never written one before.
