Be Safe, Angel
Poem By Leslie Alexis
The wailing tunes of the long lost child.
Her father’s ways the cause of her cry.
So many lovely young ones wish to die.
Because they know not love, tears fill their eyes.
She is long gone and left to the town.
The cruelty in his being brought her down.
Her smile, although beautiful, is rarely seen.
A broken heart who has never really, love seen.
Her cries are mellow and always left unheard.
She just wishes to be a child, a little girl.
Doubtful of change she makes her own way.
I hope she would be safe, God, I humbly pray,
That on this day you will watch over my friend.
Stay with her in every way. Guardian angels please send
To keep her safe on her journeying route,
Show her what love is, for its existence she doubts.
Bring her heavenly peace, and spiritual calm.
Keep her from vermin’s, keep her safe from harm.
I wish this very moment that I was a king
Or an angel, with a mighty big wing.
Then I’d scope you out and to your rescue, fly.
I would be a friend to dry your eyes when you cry.
The friend to talk to and share that ‘ewwie good’ hug.
Show you safety in foundation, not bare, but a floor with a rug.
That is soft enough to comfort you when you fall…
Writing this, I realized how happy you make me in all.
You’re young, so I am to not stray, and gauge my words.
But what can I say for you I have that agape love. Herds
Of unicorns, fields of fairies, houses of dolls,
I wish be granted as gifts to you. But dolls
Can’t really teach you how to hug, can they?
My friend, a tearing eye directs the words I say.
Come back, so that I can know that all is right…
Two days you say, then I’ll have two restless nights.
Where do you lay your head? Whose bed do you share?
Find me when you can… I would be right here… (Love… Les)
