Because I'M Gay

Poem By Mark Sanders

The walls are falling in on me,
Because I’m gay.

People will eat my soul out,
Because I’m gay.
People will call me a fag,
Because I’m gay.

People will beat me,
Because I’m gay.
People will be full of hate,
Because I’m gay.

I feel uncomfortable in church,
Because I’m gay.
The pastor kicks me out,
Because I’m gay.

My own family abandons me,
Because I’m gay.
I have to fight to get married,
Because I’m gay.

At times I have to wear my mask,
Because I’m gay.
I feel so alone,
Because I’m gay.

There is nothing left for me,
Because I’m gay.
There is a bullet in my head,
Because I’m gay.

This poem really makes me think about myself and my fears about what people will say because of the fact that I'm gay
I feel you... Thanks. Made me just think of my life and cry, but I took courage that I am not alone.
