Being An Okie

One of our nations best kept secrets
Is the advantage of an Okie lifestyle
A place where life can be rewarding
Where everyone has reason to smile

Where the simple life is always best
Where concern is always progress
The standards set by our ancestors
Simple... It is a life without distress

You do a better job of selling Oklahoma than I've run into before. I've a cousin who lives out there and I laugh when he gets on the phone now, because he no longer sounds like LA, but he loves the open, outdoor life, the hard physical labor.
So true, John. Loved this poem and looking forward to reading many more. Marilyn
