Being Yourself

Poem By Siobhan O'Neill

shunned for not conforming
ridiculed for looking unique
laught at for being different
being treated like a freek

being not afraid to be yourself
means you're 'not natural' your 'odd'
you're like some strange, uncharted waters
'cause you dont think paris hilton is god

you should let your personality shine!
let it glow, brighter than their fake tan!
laugh and mess and just have fun
just because you can!

dont be afraid of what they think
or of what they might say
throw your head up, show the world a smile
and do it anyway

listen to the music you like
and crank the volume up loud
dance and sing like no ones watching
be yourself, be proud!

A Beautiful Disease

Do you remember when life was about more than looks?
Neither do I

Do you remember when who we are wasn't defined by what we wear?

Waves roar,
the ocean screams,

Into the vein,
Into the artery,
Release the pain,
From the capilary.
