The darkness has captured the light,
by Danika Walker
Thrown into an endless pool of doubt.
It has been left out to be scavenged
By the lifeless predators wandering about,
Words are just prisoners in my mouth,
Emotions lying paralyzed beneath the wounds.
I never searched for the truth,
Nor did I ask to be betrayed.
Letting yourself down is a sin,
But hiding behind a glass wall
Is just a tragedy with no end in sight.
The pages will burn as dawn approaches.
A life story may end in tragedy,
The call for help simply ignored,
Pain can be an unbearable experience,
But the lesson learned can be invaluable.
