Beware Of Webs

Poem By Rini Shibu

Soft and silky strands he ejects
He crawls up and down on the strands
Swings and climbs on the tree
Wind  drifts him from trees to  trees
He blocks the ways spinning the web
To catch the fly on sticky web
Patiently waits  hiding under leaves
Watching for prey with scary eight eyes
Hover fly hatched from the cocoons
Flies to the garden of macoun
Never knew there is a trap on the way
And the wings sticks on the glue
Scary and hairy eight legged critter
Pounce on the fly and sucks the juice
Fills up his belly and go to his mate
But cruel spider was unaware of his end
Who will be eaten  by his voracious mate.

You have left a great message to the human society through this little poem Liked it
Nice poem. Good surprising ending.
A poem which makes us aware of the hidden dangers in our own (civilized) society too though metaphorically speaking. Beautifully written. Thanks for visiting my page to read poem of the day 'Musing of an Autistic
:) hmmmm.... lovely.......incisive, contemporary and on another level enjoyed
The spider web......invisible threads...the lofty skill adopted by the spider to catch the fly...all these have emulated the 'hidden danger' in any work....you have meticulously described the strategy adopted by the spider in your poetic style.....10 points to you..
