Killing Beasties

Poem By Randy McClave

"the women i know don't belong anywhere", he said
lips ash stained, curled up and tight
his hands caress my tights and i
don't feel like i belong in this room,
in this city,
in this moment
i bid my time and take a sip,
look into his eyes and wonder:
why is there more than one type
of loneliness to choose from?

I love the feeling and affect that forms the impetus of this poem, but I would not adjudge this as poetry because of many obvious reasons. Nevertheless, 'tis a good start. Focus on rhyme, punctuation, and grammar.
