Bitter Cake

Open mouth
Teeth sinking in
Chewing the dough
It’s a cake but it’s bitter.

I can smell the sweetness
But the taste is bitter
The tears fall on every bite
And bitter it becomes.

My sudden caged freedom
The last meal, bittersweet
Freed from everything
The last dish, bittersweet

Never have a cake been so sweet
Never have it been so bitter either
Never have a bite been so hard to swallow
Never have a bite been so grey

My last goodbyes,
My last apologies,
Makes you wish,
Makes me sigh.

On the moment of resignation
Every emotion leaves
They had to go
Because I could not take care of them

The empty soul and body
It’s reaching its own end
The hollow being doesn’t respond
Makes you wish that cake wasn’t so bitter.
