Black, White And Me
Poem By Sofia Moreno
Black and white…Don’t say a word,
Little stars shine down there…
From up here, so little…
Ants rush and rush… Run!
They’ll probably get home… Run!
It is funny, little little ball…
Not even a ball, flat at the top and bottom,
Or was it side and side?
Don’t laugh at me… I’m doing what I
Want to believe I can do…
Here, hide with me; I’ll try to stay awake,
I’ll stay here with you…
Laugh, laugh, you should stop soon,
They’ll notice us, the ants will fetch us
And force us to work too
In their messy and round form of life
Yes, I agree, that can’t be called life…
I must say, dear, I admire their strength
I cannot fathom to imagine
Being dead and alive
I can’t imagine being an undead
Yet, I am dead, I am alive
I walk towards death, in this life
Laugh! I know dear, now it’s your topic
Why don’t you talk now?
Oh, did I hit a soft spot? I’ll smile for you…
There, see, the sun is coming, be quiet
I don’t want them to hear
The beating of my heart, your silent whisper
Let’s walk down this path, together,
I’ll let you take me… Cold hands the ones
You own… I’ll warm you a little bit
Black and white, that’s Ant-talk
We’ll make grey together!
