Poem By Rebecca Hall

I hold
My bleeding heart
About to smash it
To the ground
So it won't hurt me anymore

My fingers slowly
Let go one
At a time

I hear you call my name
I look at you
With dull and lifeless eyes;

You reach your hand
Around mine
And smile
Saying its ok
For me to let go
Because you've got it

Hesitantly I let go
Believeing you will
Protect my heart

I smile a real smile
Lasting but for a moment
As you start to scowl

I'm done with you
You say

You let go
My heart falls
I catch it
And it slowly starts
Over again

I Remember

I remember when you pulled my hair
I remember when you struck me with the back of your hand
Why did you do it?

I slide to the floor
Holding my hands

Begging and pleading

Does It Matter?

Does it matter?
Is my question to the world

Does it matter?

Don't mess with him
You do
And I will hurt you
I love him
