Border Crossing

BORDER-CROSSING

you can’t cross the border in the morning

then she forgets salt

or put it twice in curry

water remains to be filled up for drinking

you leave for office in a hurry

without glancing thru the headlines

you miss the daily routine train

friends leave without you

you fail to participate

in arguments, be it cricket or politics

your chance to play card is also lost

attendance register is marked red

you feel a shortage of good reasons

before x-ray eyes of friends

your eyes search for your toe-nails

but the mind always looks for

something beyond the routine

like a caged bird

to spread wings to blue sky

all the moments’ hours daily

Nice piece capturing the daily humdrum of life....we have no time to stand and stare...we are just sucked into a horrendous routine like caged birds.
Excellent moving poem. Your keen eyes of imagination is surprising!
a daily routine well narrated in a lighter vein...enjoyable
