Breaking The Medicine Mirror

Poem By Melissa Schreuder

She walks through the rain...
she walks through her door...
she sets her bag down...
walks to her bathroom...
she looks at her self in the medicine
cabinet mirror,
she sees a pail brown eyed brunet,
she balls up her hands and swings at the mirror
and hits it as hard as she could,
blood and glass every where,
she screams with pain,
the pain of loneliness and sadness and hate in her self.

Comments about Breaking The Medicine Mirror

I love the emotion in this poem. I can really feel the pain you are describing.
penning a sequence of self-defeating behavior followed by the culprit....an advocacy of reminder....reminding me of why I wrote my poem 'Veracity'

A Home?

My home is not a home,
not a place to call my own,
not a place where I can sleep peacefully,
not a place where I can sing or dance about it.

Hurt

Tears fall down her face,
her heart breaking in to a million pieces.
She breaks down no one knows why.
then she screams 'TELL ME YOU LOVE ME! ',

metamorphic butterfly's inside my stomach,

A New Life

She packs her bag and goes out in the
Morning sun she gets in the cab,
She drives away from her old life
And drives heads for a new.
