Breathe

Poem By Maxine Mason

Breathe

I want to breathe
To suck in life
I want to smile
To see my beautiful world
I want to grieve
To cry and wail
I want to be strong
To feel like steel
I want to hate
To bare my teeth
I want to love
To give all of me
I want to live.

Broken Glass

I am broken glass
Slithers of shattered shards
Scattered
Pieces beyond repair

Leaving Me

You left me in the winter
You left me with no choice
You left me alone
Cold in the November rain
