Bridge Repair At Night

Funneled from toll to span
by cones
flanks exposed
blinded by oncoming.

Leather-handed orthopods
in girder's gross anatomy
don't interrupt the flow.

Air-hammers jacked the artery
from the shore,
kept us in suspense.
