Bringing You Back
Poem By Jose Maret
Colours have faded out in the sun
The smile and the giggles forgotten
The leaves look grey and dead
The sky an overcast gloom
Questions, answers and loneliness
Smiles, tears and conversations
Nothing seems to crack the stillness
And emptiness that has come to stay
Replacing everything you gave us
Will you be back one day, dear?
To bring back the music and the stars
To let the winds turn wild in the fields
To make merry in the trees
And become the child again.
Why have you going hiding?
Why have you left us here in this gloom?
Will you be back this autumn,
Or will winter bring you home at Christmas?
Will you ever be back, dear?
