The gate is small the road is narrow
That leads to true life
Choose not to be under the harrow
Claim eternal joy not strife

Wide is the gate and broad is the way
That leads to eternal pains
For great are the pleasures today
As you stroll across worldly plains

The goods we gather here upon earth
Are tied securely around our girth
So when we arrive at that pearly gate
A sign "no dumping here." It appears, too late

Can we come back, back to the cross
And dump all our goods and chattels there
Too late the narrow way burns off the dross
Where with others we share and we care

Many will say on that final day
Lord, Lord we did it for you
Our works must assuredly say
Depart, for your works are untrue
