Broken

BROKEN

AN ENDLESS KISS,
SUCH A SMALL GIFT OF LOVE TO YOU,
IS GIVEN TO YOU BY MY HAND,
THE SAME HAND,
THAT WAS PROMISED TO YOU,
CAN NOW NEVER BE GIVEN,
FOR IT IS NOW NOT MINE TO GIVE,
LAID SPARSE WITHIN ALL,
AMONG THE TRAVELING WHISPER OF MY FUTURE.
THIS IS MY BURDEN, THE CALLING MADE,
A TROUBLE THAT I CAN NOT SHARE,
WITH THE ONE I LOVE.

FOR I KNOW BEYOND WORLDS,
THAT YOU WOULD STAND WITH ME,
WITHOUT QUESTION OR HESITATION,
SUFFER IN MY SUFFERING,
PAIN IN MY PAIN,
DIE IN MY DEATH.
TO CUT A LIFE SO SHORT,
WHEN LOVE IS NOW FOUND,
FOUND AMONG THE BILLIONS OF STARS,
IS THE CRUELEST OF ALL THE CRUEL INTENTIONS,
SHARPER THAN THE SHARPEST KNIFE,
TO THE HEART OF JOYFUL HOPE.

WISH THAT I NEVER FOUND LOVE,
WITHIN MY WORLD OR THE NEXT TO COME,
THAN TO FLOUNDER IN THE LONG GRASS,
WITHOUT DIRECTION OR SIGHT OF MY DESTINATION,
IN THE PALOUR OF MY FUTURE,
WHERE THE FLOWER'S STEM,
NOW BROKEN BEYOND REPAIR,
BOWED NEVER TO STAND TALL AGAIN,
WAITS FOR THE JOURNEY ALONE.

A love pure truthful and trusted, seldom achieved Remember the never ending quest of Orpheus for Euridyce Willing to sell his soul and life for that love you so well describe.
A broken promise of a love never ending There lies the sorrow of never wanting to love again Hence the lonely journey of souls never coming together again So very true Thank you
Very touching poem dealing with nostalgia.10/10.
