Burdened

awaiting the morning's misty end
sleep to charm a shadow's laughter
chilling sphere once precious is wise
seen golden soft in fading.

deepening void of blood-stained glass
banished child's head is lowered
surface smiles enchain our souls
truly serene yet in darkest spaces.
