Burn My Mind Away

there was something I wanted to say
but not today
not when the skies are gray
instead, I stay inside on my bed I just lay

my thoughts are like fire
I wanna scream them out
so the flames will reach higher
but today isn't the day for me to shout

I guess I'll let the flames burn my mind away
today while the skies are gray
today when I have nothing to say
while I go to my bed to lay
I'll let the flames burn my mind away

they look at me like I'm a beast
as if my face was made out of coal
but you look at me like a broken soul
who needs to eat a feast

you think you know about the pain
they have caused for me
well that is a shame
because you don't know my friend
might as well agree
