Let’s not be sad for this bygone day
When the quiet, soothing wind faded,
When the dusk has slowly died away
And last sunbeams with dark clouds flirted.
Tomorrow, at dawn, we’ll say goodbye,
Our boats will take different courses.
But now let’s marvel at the calm sky
Which makes us lower our voices...
We don’t know who’ll sail with the good wind,
And who must face a high, troubled wave.
We don’t know our penance - we sinned
Trying to find our own enclave.
Let bygones be bygones – trust this day;
It’s unwilling to separate us.
Perhaps heaven could hear me pray,
But your lips are too serious…
I won’t fall asleep when the moon is full,
I’ll fear the dead silence and my dreams.
Our parting needn’t be so painful;
Let’s remember how unique this day seems…
