There were so many,
they hung their heads
as if in shame
and swayed, unnoticed
buoyed by the staleness
of belated centuries
and, by and by they dripped
onto the rocky grounds
their semen as if it could
renew this world, its breath
and, as the devil watched,
the thorn of stalagtite
slipped with a tiny cry
into the petal gate, so moist
of what has been described
by Gods and man alike
as stalagmites, those givers of
the ambience of caves
and of its secret womb.
It was the taste of love
the force that does perpetuate
the beat of each small heart
which, in its own noblesse,
surprises even Gods.

Very sensual...caves...hmm...
Reading this one after reading ''Carnal'' I have to wonder which you wrote first......quite a mood here. Very sensual even though it's about a cave....interesting. Good one. Sincerely, mary
Second thoughts, I'll let it run. Mystery's all part of the fun, after all. Winking at you, Gina.
Thank you very much, Wendy. And Gina, of course you can inquire. I have the answer all ready. H
Image-rich and sensuous. The allusions to sexual reproduction have drawn me to picture your caves as ardent young men. I like the word-play in '...so moist of what has been described...'. May I inquire as to the inspiration behind this? Half-winking, Gina.
