Cheap Talk

Poem By David odhiambo

'Cheap Talk'
She talks a lot!
I hear them murmur.
But to me
She carols with pride
And heaven knows it
She wiles my heart.

She walks, not like a model!
I hear them holler.
But to me
she sways her hips
With grace indeed,
And heaven knows it
She beguiles my eyes.

Spice her smell!
I hear them yammer.
But to me
She exudes, with intensity,
A scent of benevolence,
And heaven knows it
I hate her not
But love her more.

She ain't good enough!
To me they whimper.
And so I say
Love cares not.
And heaven knows it
She loves me more.

I lie in silence
My thoughts completely shut
Tranquility, is all I wish for
Darkness, stealthily walking in

From The Heavens

'From the heavens'
In peace I lie, and so I walk
Above the dry lands, past the seven seas
Beyond the tall buildings, and little mud houses

A Vision In My Eyes

The vision in my eyes
Blurred and dim
And still, with pregnant enigma
bright and real.
