Childless Woman

Never to have felt
that growth within her belly.
Never to have felt,
a child emerging.

Grieving now, wistful,
fearful, bereft and sad.
Never to fulfill,
a woman’s deep felt need.

Never to create.
Fifty now and no chance.
One, without a mate;
gravestone in her heart.

Really touched a nerve with several career women of my acquaintance.I read it to them and they went all blubbery.I guess I am a cad. I guess your poem is good.
