Cold Wind

Cold Wind

I wish I were like you
All cool and streamlined
But
I am not
Mostly rough and ragged

Your ways and my ways
Are not even close
Yet we share so much
While not connected
At the hip

Sometimes when
I stand under
The orangish
late afternoon sky
I see what could be

How I want to take
You in a thousand ways
And
Feel the warmth of
Your breath against my skin

But all I feel is
Cold wind blowing
You away

your poetic juxtaposition (I paid 50c for that word) of her breath and the cold wind is nice. Your sentiments are sincerely reflected and well expressed by your poem. possibly a little idealization of the person described, but that's not really a poetry critique, and it may also be humanly univeral (I tend to do it too) .
A nice piece, Scott.
My reaction from the ladies as well(smile)
