Come - For - Table

Poem By Reginald Goodridge

We were just celebrating
nothing much but enjoying
and elaborating
our friend
the Movie, TV endless, end
that girl with power
of a social butterfly
cried aloud and we heeded
her radiant glow, we did lie
under her muse, her wants
her pictures to be snapped up
and in the end we expressed love

Yes you
were full of comfort
we came for you
at the table
round the fort
just us few close
friendly, radios
with loud blasting stereotypes
we came for you
we were all coming for tables
wrapped up and comfortable
passed round and satiable

oh, I remember his hand
pissing me off, jacking my
gestures, stroking your belly
at the table, round the fort
we came in, first the four
then the six, finally ten
but he touched you then
pissing me off, -uncomfortably
so sorry I have to say
I ignore he, and you
regularly, C I'm fort able
and yes I breathe...comfortably
