Compassion

Poem By casandra jacobs

compassion
a dieing bread
falling into the shadows
of humanity
being ripped apart
little by little
taken for granted
and then forgotten
used
abused
tortured tormented
they extend their hand
in friendship
asking no questions
expecting no explanations
only to withdraw
their arm
and the hand they extended
in friendship
in compassion
finding its no longer there
these people take
and take
and the few
caring compassionates die
left in the shadows
ripped apart and forgotten
all they had
distributed into the smallest
peices possible
giving all they had
until all the have
is nothing
