Conquered

Poem By Rose Marie Jackson

What have I
To gain
My tears
Flow as the rain

My life is empty
And vain
My heart holds
So much pain

For eighteen
Blessed years
His kiss
Erased in fears

But,
Now he's dead
And gone
And I'm
Left here alone

So what,
Have I to gain
My heart is filled
With pain.

My lonely heart
Holds much despair

A New Love

My love has died
And gone away
It's hard to face
Each passing day
