How deep is the meaning
by Doris Suchan
of the words that are spoken,
when so few comprehend what it is that they say?
The words, they flow forth from
some deep, inner cavern
and once they are spoken,
the memory than fades.
If once we would listen, to ourselves,
not our fellows, if we would but hear
the words that we speak,
the words we would hear from
would be inner knowledge,
we would finally come to know
the know thyself of which they speak.
