Corn Anyone?

Poem By Marilyn Lott

At any festival of flavors
There are many so delicious
But sweet corn is right on top
Of the food-type of business

Oh, I just love fresh corn
There’s so many ways to fix it
But I like right off the cob
It sure makes a tasty hit

It can be roasted on the grill
Or boiled till it’s done
When I smell that aroma
I’m gonna grab me one

If it’s dripping with hot butter
It’s fixed perfectly for me
If I hear, “Corn on the cob! ”
That’s where I wanna be

As you sink your teeth in
You detect a crispy crunch
In summer I go searching
And buy myself a bunch

Of course there’s other food
As you wade through the mob
But I just love the succulent taste
Of crunchy corn on a cob

The world is wide with wonder
For everything is new
A child’s mind is like a sponge
Or like a flower sipping morning dew

Three ducks pecked around
In a garden one warm day
They wore beautiful coats
Of white feathers to display

He works so hard every day
Doing pretty much what he’s told
The days slowly turn into years
As his life carefully unfolds

A Chat With The Lord

Sometimes I kind of feel sad and bored
So I decide to have a little chat with the Lord
I tell Him just what has been bothering me
I know He understands and He will see

A Bologna Sandwich?

I love a hamburger that is cooked just right
Sliced tomato, onion and a pickle too
A sandwich of chicken or turkey is nice
So many choices that we can pursue
