Corresponding Heart

Stage bare
No sound
Shadows of dust
Standing over my head
The emptiness is deafening
Buried like a tendril
Without promise of new growth

It's been perfected
A worry stone
Rubbed smooth
Just another
Craven way you abide by
So chaos doesn't show
Calmness turned cold

At times
There's a crack in the foundation
And the warmth brings a sound
That whispers to the emptiness
And the stage is restored
The dust contained

And I wish the beauty
Of the rain would stay
Flushing the loss
Of weary eyes away
Giving way
To a mind
Corresponding
With a heart
