Country Mail Box

Poem By Marilyn Lott

Did you ever live in the country?
It’s a different kind of life for sure
It’s so relaxing and comfortable
And the air’s so clean and pure

You don’t have a lot of noise
That you find in the city living
No, the country folks are different
Sort of homey and more forgiving

No one seems to get in a hurry
Don’t have to always rush around
Take things as they come along
Don’t worry so much, I’ve found

And the communication is different
As a mailbox sits out by the road
Folks walk to get their mail
Seems like a slow delivery mode

Yes, I like the country mailbox
With its little red flag so you know
That your outgoing mail is gone now
It has the perfect balance and flow!

Comments about Country Mail Box

This poem is also perfect and I love the flow...I found myself standing on the side of the road watching the mailman deliver and saw a person come walking out from the house with the pie sitting outside the window to cool. You brought me into the poem and I was there. You are amazing my sister poet.....

In a garden one warm day

A Bologna Sandwich?

I love a hamburger that is cooked just right
Sliced tomato, onion and a pickle too
