Crosswalk

If the world were a crosswalk
two straight white lines
telling us
to live our lives
in fear of
death
love
and censure
then I must be the one
to walk outside of them
because I know
there is more
to be afraid of
than just
death
love
and what
you call
censure

Alira, you have nailed this piece with admirable economy. It leaves the reader astonished - and pondering... Always a sign of good poetry. Rgds, Ivan
