Lonely Am I

Lonely are the nights
Lonely are the days
Lonely am I, in so many ways

Lonely are the seasons
Lonely are the years
So lonely am I, that it brings tears.

Lonely is this place
Lonely is my life
Lonely am I, that I reach for a knife

Lonely is this court room
Lonely is my sentence
So lonely am I that I ask for repentance.

Cute! .....
What a riot! Kind of takes the old starch out of infatuation.
This is delightful. A cartoonists portrait inked with great style and charm. I was watching an ad on the idiot box last night that was sensitively shot and expensively acted with the theme of 'hugs'. Yes, it was an ad for 'huggies' - one of the most polluting 'labour-savers' every invented. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Great poem. love, Allie xxxx
I belive the term is 'to nock an arrow' - therefore 'arrow nocked tight', however your meaning is clear. The classical reference to cupid has him nude, wherein the need for huggies originates I guess. Love sometimes is like being shat on from a great height... Rgds, Ivan
