Dad And Me

Poem By Lenore Lee

Inside our house you'll find crannies and nooks.
Crevices and cracks and fissures and books!
Books under the bed and on the floor,
Books around the table and beside the door,
Books on the bookshelf and surrounding it,
Books all over the house, every single bit!
Not a one of these books are non-fiction,
Different worlds are their depiction.
Fictional, sci-fi, dark and fantasy,
Horror and happy, more books for me!
Books belonging to my father,
Or belonging to me as I rather.
My father and I in bookworm heaven,
Until mum cleans up around half past seven.
She throws the books in a huff,
Says it's a mess and to clean it up!
Well dad and I try to clean,
But on the work we quickly wean
And in one of the larger nooks
You'll find dad and me reading our books.

Comments about Dad And Me

A great tribute to an aspect of the relationship you and your Dad have. To share such a learned common interest is a treasure and a gift for life the love of reading and knowledge that he has so graciously bestowed.
Very beautiful and tender, these feelings come truly the heart, you make my miss my dad, very emotional :)
Book is the best friend. Either you read or not but you must keep books with you. a nice poem. top marks.

Climbing to get the fruit off of the tree.
Isn't that just like a human?
What makes them different to us?

A Sad Smile

I look upon my Nanna's shallow form,
Her sunken eyes show an unending storm.
Tubes stuck in her arms, neck and belly,
She strains her eyes to watch the telly.

Choose Life

I cry and I don't know why,
I vent and stress,
I struggle in a mess,

A Lady's Eye

A teardropp falls from a lady's eye,
Misery seeps into her being,
She gives a deep, breathy, longing sigh,
And dreams about believing.

True Beauty

When a pretty girl walks down the street,
All the people want to meet.
This girl with slim hips and golden hair,
This girl that everybody wants to stare.

The Sociopath (1)

I sat alone today and wondered if I could still feel,
Inside my soul I believe nothing is truly real.
Alone once again and it doesn’t even cause me pain.
I try to remember how to have blind belief gained.
