Dad's Touch

Growing up, all I had was Dad.
He was my best friend, come what may.
At times, I cried when I was sad.
Dad gently wiped my tears away.
There weren't that many times for tears.
We lived and loved and laughed a lot.
Dad praised my hopes and soothed my fears.
Learn from feeling - was what Dad taught.
I wished that we'd go on and on.
But, that wish withered when Dad died.
I waited till they all had gone.
Kneeling next to his grave, I cried.

I missed Dad more than words could say.
Dad gently wiped my tears away.

Very well done. I have fond memories of my dad also. I was expecting this poem to be humorous like most of your others that I have read, and was very surprised but not disappointed.

A touchy poem. A good write. Rationally, now we have to learn to learn from thinking than feeling if you agree. OK
