Daddy, Please Don’t Lie

Poem By Crystal Dawn

Daddy, daddy, you told the judge yesterday
A lie to take everything away
From Mommy.

I’ve gone away for a day or two
Just to keep from shouting at you;
I’m sorry.

I’ve tried so hard to make you turn good,
But it’s not working out the way that it should.

Daddy, daddy, I still love you.
Daddy, daddy, I still love you, but…

Daddy, daddy, you told the judge yesterday
A lie to take everything away
From Mommy.

Daddy, daddy, please don’t lie again.
Daddy, please don’t lie.
